Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Join tonight's 8PM Zoom meeting and Wednesday 2PM Rally/Press Conference outside the Governor's Office as we fight to SAVE OUR JOBS from the impact of a new congestion surcharge fee. The MTA has proposed 7 different scenarios to charge a Congestion Surcharge fee to enter Manhattan 60th Street and below. A board is now getting ready to choose a plan.
The MTA could add $5 - $23 per trip to each taxi/fhv fare, reducing ridership as much as 20%. Drivers will pay directly when there is no passenger. The MTA admits masses of drivers will LOSE JOBS. That is one of their goals. Their solution is to waive the $60 - $70 bus drivers' exam fee! It's an insult on top of injury!
