The NYC Hospitality Alliance hosted a press conference with the MTA, chefs and restaurateurs to welcome back 24/7 subway service for our industry’s employees, customers and all of NYC, while promoting the #TakeTheTrain and #TakeTheBus Campaign to encourage people to use public transportation to explore neighborhoods and support their local restaurants and bars.
A robust public transportation system is vital to the hospitality industry’s recovery, and to our entire city’s recovery.
Our first stop brought us to lunch at the incredible Taverna Kyclades in Astoria, Queens, which is a few blocks from the N train’s Ditmars Blvd stop.
The NYC Hospitality Alliance team was joined for a delicious lunch by MTA leadership, our President Melba Wilson of Melba’s Harlem Restaurant, members, chefs and restaurateurs, Daniel Boulud, Anne Burrell, the Queens Borough President’s office, several local organizations, and more friends.
Check out great the photos from the event here.
We encourage you to take public transportation to support fellow restaurants and bars, take photos and post on social media using #TakeTheTrain or #TakeTheBus and tag us at @theNYCalliance.
Huge thank you to the Taverna Kyclades team for the wonderful hospitality and support!
Let’s go NYC and take trains to tables!
