In Western churches it begins on Ash Wednesday, six and a half weeks before Easter, and provides for a 40-day fast (Sundays are excluded), in imitation of Jesus Christ's fasting in the wilderness before he began his public ministry.

March Is Women's History Month and National Reading Month!
Women's History Month
During the month of March, we commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.

At MTC, we will celebrate the impact women have made not only on our local ministry but on the overall denomination - Christ Holy Sanctified Church. From our co-founder Mother Sarah King to the women serve today, the role of women is vital to the health and impact of MTC and CHSC.
National Reading Month
March is designated as National Reading Month - a month to motivate Americans of all ages to read every day. Reading is fun and has many benefits, regardless of your age. It's a key component of education and professional development.

Did you know that Pastor has published two books? Thank you to all who have supported his newly, published book - Fountainhead: A History of Christ Holy Sanctified Church by Bishop Ulysses S. King, Sr. Revised and Edited by Ulysses S. King, Jr. (Xulon Press, 2021). In 2015, Pastor also published his book - Running Away: The Memoir of a Bishop's Son. Look forward to future reading dates by Pastor & Friends. Please continue to share photos of your book purchase, and let Pastor know how it impacted your life.

Our Mission Statement
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed; to be a center of genuine concern for those in need, a sanctuary of community worship that is neither shallow nor restrained, a spiritual home where members find an expression of precious love for one another and a haven for the unsaved.

Let us know more about you by connecting with us on our online form. We look forward to doing awesome things together to increase the kingdom of God. #GodFirst #58thStAndTelegraphAve #FromGenerationToGeneration
