Family Feedback Requested: Draft MTSD COVID-19 Mitigation Assessment Tool
As planning continues for the 2021-2022 school year, we are excited to welcome all students back in classrooms with learning environments like that which we provided pre-pandemic. Within MTSD’s commitment to maintaining safe and healthy educational environments for all students and staff members, there is a continued and important role in implementing practices to mitigate communicable diseases, including COVID-19.
Using guidance shared with the district by the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department on Friday, July 16, school officials have been drafting a plan for next school year that includes strategies for managing COVID-19 in our schools. A draft of the MTSD COVID-19 Mitigation Assessment Tool was shared with all district families for review and feedback via Infinite Campus Messenger on Friday, July 23 (if you did not receive this message, please double-check your spam folder).
If you have not already, MTSD families should please take some time to review the mitigation assessment tool and share feedback via the Google link provided in the email communication from July 23. We are grateful for your perspective and engagement as we finalize our plans for the upcoming school year.

The MTSD 2020-2021 Quality Report Now Available
Each year, the Mequon-Thiensville School District creates an annual report to inform stakeholders of how public funds are spent to educate students, as well as provide updated facts and figures regarding overall district performance, and highlight student and staff achievements. This report, which is mailed to all Mequon-Thiensville residents each July, provides detailed information about our academic program, students' educational experiences, and fiscal report.
With the academic achievement of our students our primary focus in the MTSD, we continue to monitor student growth using the data available to us. While there is no question that the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted students’ academic, social and emotional progress across the nation, the 2020-2021 Quality Report includes much to celebrate!

Reminder: Register Now for the 2021-2022 School Year!
The enrollment window is open for the 2021-2022 academic year! If you haven’t already, we ask that you please complete online enrollment for your child as soon as possible.
Completing Online Enrollment
To begin the online enrollment process, please log in to your Infinite Campus Parent portal account. In the left side navigation click “More,” and then “Online Registration.” Follow the prompts to complete online enrollment. To see a visual guide for navigating the online enrollment process, please visit www.mtsd.k12.wi.us/HowToEnroll.
Transportation Requests
Resident transportation and alternative transportation requests must be submitted within Infinite Campus prior to August 12 in order to be routed by Riteway in time for the start of school. Any transportation submissions received between August 12 and September 5 will be routed after the start of the school year.
Homebound Instruction Option
Parents/guardians of students who are unable to return to on-campus learning due to a medical concern must complete the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Physician’s Statement - Homebound Instruction form indicating that either the student or a family member with whom the student lives has a medically fragile condition. For consideration to begin the school year in a distance learning experience, the Physician’s Statement - Homebound Instruction form should be submitted to Rachel Lemanczyk, Executive Director of Student Services. Upon submission of this form, we will work with each family to determine how we are able to best meet the educational needs of the student.
For students receiving special education services, the Physician’s Statement - Homebound Instruction form must be completed and then discussed with the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) team and either Michael Mooren, MTSD Special Education Coordinator, or Danielle Ozimek, MTSD Autism Specialist, for IEP considerations. For more information or if you have questions regarding the use of the Homebound Instruction form, please contact Rachel Lemanczyk, Executive Director of Student Services at rlemanczyk@mtsd.k12.wi.us.

Paying School Fees
Student fees will be available for payment on August 1. It is preferred that parents/guardians pay school fees via credit card through Infinite Campus. Anyone who needs to pay fees in person using cash or check should contact Cindy Leinfelder at cleinfelder@mtsd.k12.wi.us. School fees need to be paid before student schedules are released later in August.
In March 2021, Infinite Campus announced it was switching payment processors for all online payment function in the Campus Portal. This has minimal impact on parents/guardians, however any saved payment methods that were set up for credit cards or eCheck accounts will be deleted to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data. When you log in to pay fees on August 1, you will be asked to enter your payment methods into the Parent Portal.

Facilities Project Update
Our facility improvement projects are on budget and on time! Construction is now in full swing at all six of our schools, plus the entrance of Range Line Community Center. Exterior clearing, demolition, and prep have been completed at all sites where necessary, and interior demolition, abatement, and framing are now underway. Crews broke ground at Homestead High School approximately one month ago and recently began clearing the way for a new driveway/entrance from westbound Mequon Road. MTSD is grateful to our families and neighbors for their patience with the construction projects and navigating through limited access to many of our school sites. We are excited about all the progress that has been made so far and for all of the great improvements yet to come!

Spring Assessment Data Release
The Mequon-Thiensville School District is still awaiting some data results from our spring state assessments. Though some of these data results are under embargo for public release by the state until the start of the school year, individual student reports for the Forward Exam and ACT Aspire are expected to be mailed to families in August. Work is also ongoing in adjusting our Milestones for Post-Secondary Success website, which will be updated with the appropriate data as it becomes available.
