Two Marquette Professors Honored with Best Paper Awards in Real Estate by the American Real Estate Society (ARES)
|
Dr. Anthony Pennington-Cross and Dr. George Cashman were honored recently by the
American Real Estate Society (ARES) for having best papers in the organization's 2016 Manuscript Prize Competition. More than 230 papers were submitted for 21 categories undergo through multiple rounds of evaluation to determine a winner.
Pennington-Cross' paper, "Mortgage Loss Given Default: Loss on Sale and Lost Time" examines losses on defaulted mortgages particularly from the sale of a property as well as opportunity costs from the loss of time.
 Dr. Cashman's paper "Cross Border Investment and Firm Liquidity" examines whether, and to what extent, information barriers and geo-political risk factors impact liquidity of real estate.

CBRE National Retail Investment Group. The event featured keynote speaker Robert White from Real Capital Analytics headquartered in New York.

Ten REAL Students Attended the annual Urban Land Institute Conference in Dallas, TX
Thanks to annual funding from real estate alumni (REALM), ten students recently attended the annual Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Dallas. The event featured many educational events, an exclusive tour of Bank of the Ozarks and a of the Sixth Street Museum where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Former President George W Bush provided the final keynote speech to wrap-up the conference. Special thank you to Marquette alum
