Looking for All 2023 Pledge Cards by 12/31/2022

IMPORTANT Message from our MUMC Finance Team

Dear Morningside UMC members, attenders and supporters,

Thank you for your continued support of our church ministry.

A reminder - Pledge cards are in a basket at the entrance to the sanctuary. If you have not returned the pledge card mailed to you, please feel free to pick up, fill out, and place a card in the box on Sunday.

Presently our 2023 pledges are at 67% of the proposed pledge budget of $215,000. Pledges are a substantial portion of our proposed overall $268,900 budget. Spring and Fall Challenge “fun” fundraisers are also significant contributors.

Almost 90% of 2022's pledge target of $217,000 have been received. Let’s make it 100% by December 31.

Blessings to you and and your families as we celebrate Jesus’s birthday this holiday season.

In her presentation, Laura mentioned the U.S. “Doctor of Gynecology.” There is now a monument to the women he experimented on. Here is an extensive article about this monument in the Smithsonian Magazine: Subjected to Painful Experiments and Forgotten, Enslaved ‘Mothers of Gynecology’ Are Honored With New Monument.

She also mentioned the New York Time’s expose on Providence Hospital: They Were Entitled to Free Care. Hospitals Hounded Them to Pay.
