MHS alum Loren Wutzke announced as new School Resource Officer


Milpitas Police Officer Loren Wutzke was recently appointed to the position of MUSD School Resource Officer, effective January 7, 2025. Officer Wutzke has been with MPD since 2017 and prior to that another Bay Area law enforcement agency. The Milpitas High School alum has served as Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, UAS pilot (drone), Bicycle Team Officer and SWAT operator. He was honored by the Board of Education and District leadership for taking on this new role.

MHS students bring MLK Jr.'s legacy to light in video resolution


Students in Milpitas High School's Black Student Union were featured in this video reading of Resolution 2025.29 Recognizing and Honoring January 20, 2025 as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which was unanimously adopted by the Milpitas Unified School District Board of Education at the January 14th meeting.

Milpitas Adult Education learner Liji Zeng


Milpitas Adult Education learner Liji Zeng was honored by the MUSD Board of Education and District leadership for being an inspirational student at Milpitas Adult Education and a recipient of a CalWORKS Achievement Award.

Rancho Middle School educator Yen Mai


Rancho MS educator Yen Mai was recognized by the Board of Education and District leadership for being an exemplary educator and her nomination for CA League of Middle Schools Teachers of the Year.

TRMS 7th grade girls basketball team


Thomas Russell MS 7th grade girls basketball team was recognized by the MUSD Board and District leadership for being amazing student-athletes and winning the league championship.

Highlights

MUSD shares outcomes from Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

The Learning & Development Team shared outcomes from MUSD's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. MUSD contracted with Right at School, Air Tutors, and Tutor Me Education to offer unduplicated pupils after-school and intersessional expanded learning opportunities. Right at School (RAS) provides after school programming that consists of homework support, character development, and literacy enrichment to expand learning beyond the school day.  Air Tutors and Tutor Me is support that is layered on to provide students with targeted virtual and in person small group tutoring designed to reinforce current classroom topics to advance their academic skill sets and confidence in math or reading. Superintendent's State of the District


Superintendent Cheryl Jordan shared her State of the District Video Update, which included recent and upcoming district events as well as the district's Attendance Rates for the 2024-25 year.
