New Principals at Sinnott, Burnett

Milpitas Unified School District's Governing Board unanimously approved the hiring of two elementary school principals: Tawiah Burroughs at Sinnott Elementary and Brandi McMillian at Burnett Elementary. Tawaih joins our MUSD team coming from nearby Berryessa Union School District where she served as Principal of Laneview Elementary until its closure last spring. Brandi's promotion comes after serving seven years as the Assistant Principal at Burnett.

“I firmly believe that in our role as educators we must focus on educating the whole child,” said Tawiah. "I’m ready to work in partnership with the team at Sinnott to continue to ensure that we are designing pathways that empower every learner.”

“This community holds a very special place in my heart and I’m deeply committed to continuing the great work already happening here,” said Brandi. “We will continue to nurture the whole child by creating classrooms where curiosity is encouraged, student voices are valued, and families are welcomed as partners in learning.”
