With unanimous support from the Board of Education, Superintendent Cheryl Jordan announced the hiring of Lisa Torres as MUSD's new Program Supervisor of Mental Health at the August 23 meeting.
Torres comes to MUSD after many years of experience in mental health and mental health support as a CASSY counselor as well as a therapist, clinical supervisor and program manager of community and school-based mental health programs. Additionally, she worked at Kaiser Permanente and headed up juvenile support systems and corrections.
"Through her experience, she'll be able to provide expanded support for our mental health program," Superintendent Jordan said.
"I'm so honored to be chosen for this position with MUSD," Torres added. "I've been drawn to MUSD because of the culture of supporting student success by engaging parents, staff and community partners."
