Report Cards Coming Soon!
As we approach the end of the first trimester, we would like to remind you of the changes in TK-6th grade report cards.
Reporting student progress is an essential part of the relationship between home and school. Our new report card, known as a Standards-Based Report Card, provides clear communication about the exact learning standards students are expected to learn at their grade level.
Instead of seeing an overall grade in each subject, parents will see a “mark” next to each learning goal for the year in each subject — these learning goals are known as standards!
Report card marks are NOT meant to be thought of as “good” or “bad” grades. Marks simply tell us how and where your child is learning and making progress. We know that all students learn differently and at a different pace, and that’s OKAY. When we have a clearer picture of where a child is in their learning, we know where they need support and what they’re ready to learn next. Teachers and parents then can work as a team to help their child grow.

See your child’s report card example by visiting: www.mantecausd.net/reportcards. We have also designed Family Guides for each grade level to support families in understanding their child’s learning growth.
Trimester 1 Report Card Distribution
Trimester 1 report cards will be distributed on November 15, 2024. Report cards can also be accessed via Q Parent Connection. If you have any questions regarding report card distribution, please contact your child’s school.

Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor the history, culture, and contributions of Native American communities. This month provides an opportunity for students and families to learn about the diverse traditions and significant impact of Native Americans throughout U.S. history. One of the ways to celebrate is to reflect on the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples.
The month was officially recognized in 1990 when President George H.W. Bush designated it as a time to celebrate the achievements and heritage of Native peoples. November, traditionally a time of harvest and community celebrations, was chosen to reflect Indigenous cultures’ deep connections to nature and the land.
Search “Native Americans” in MUSD’s free, digital library to explore multiple titles.

California Sikh Awareness & Appreciation Month
California Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month, celebrated each November, is a time to honor the many contributions of the Sikh community to the state’s history, culture, and prosperity.
Sikhism, originating from the Punjab region of India, has a rich history in California, with Sikh immigrants first arriving in the early 1900s. The community has been instrumental in agriculture, business, public service, and other industries, particularly in the Central Valley, where many Sikh farmers have shaped the region’s agricultural success.
The designation of November as Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month serves not only to celebrate the community’s contributions but also to educate Californians about Sikh values, traditions, and history.

Veterans Day
November 11 - No School
| |
November 11 is Veterans Day. Originally known as Armistice Day, this date was chosen in honor of the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918 which signaled the end of World War I. Veterans Day honors the service of all U.S. military veterans.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the brave people who have served or are currently serving in our military.
Did you know many staff in Manteca Unified are veterans? This may not be surprising when considering the similarities in dedication to one’s country and one’s community.

In honor of Veterans Day, please enjoy a video opened by our Superintendent, Dr. Clark Burke, who currently serves as a Colonel in the Army.
