THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON

April 1–6, 2026

Easter Week lands with some truly gorgeous spring weather—arguably the best we’ve had all year—so consider this your cue to get out of the house. Whether it’s a sunset walk along the Bayou, an open studio visit, or live music under the stars, Houston is showing off right now. As always, a few unexpected gems are tucked in—so scroll, plot your route, and make a week of it.

👉 ON MY RADAR (NEXT WEEK / NYC)

For the first time since 1969, more than 60 veteran organizers from the 1960s–70s Latinx civil rights movements will gather in New York City, April 9–10. The free, two-day Latinx Freedom Conference also launches a national archive and exhibition project coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—and Houston is in the mix (ask me for details!).
