THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON

January 14–18, 2026

Dear Friends of MUSED Houston,

This week, Houston’s visual arts calendar hits full stride. From politically urgent exhibitions and community walks to a surge of gallery openings and artist talks, January 14–18 offers a reminder of just how interconnected this city’s creative life can be — across neighborhoods, disciplines, and conversations.

Whether you’re carving out time for a single meaningful stop or plotting a full weekend of openings, I’ve curated this week’s listings to help you navigate what’s happening with intention (and without overwhelm). There’s a little bit of everything here: poetry and protest, movement and wellness, emerging voices, and major institutional moments.

As always, I encourage you to choose what resonates most — and leave the rest knowing it’s part of a larger, thriving ecosystem.

See you out there — and say hello if you spot me and my ARTING cohorts: Patti Lou, Rega and Gordon!
