THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON

July 29–August 2, 2026

August begins this weekend, traditionally Houston's hottest time of the year. Yet despite the scorching temperatures, Houston's arts community shows no signs of slowing down.

You can join the crowds for one of Houston's favorite summer traditions, White Linen Night in the Heights, or escape into the cool refuge of galleries, museums, artist-run spaces, and independent cinemas.

Along the way, you'll find exhibition openings, artist talks, immersive installations, documentary screenings, live performances, and conversations exploring everything from Houston's role in the global arts landscape to climate, civil rights, and contemporary culture.

However you choose to spend the weekend, there's no shortage of reasons to get out and experience Houston's creative community.

Hope to see you out and about.

P.S. Help shape the future of MUSED Houston! Please take our first Audience Survey (about 3 minutes, 10 questions) and help us better understand our readers so we can continue improving our coverage of Houston's visual arts community. CLICK HERE to participate.
