Plan Your Arts Weekend: Wednesday thru Sunday

We're in the midst of those hot, sultry days known as the dog days of summer! Do you know why they are called this? These days were historically the period following the heliacal rising of the star system Sirius, which Hellenistic astrology connected with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck. The dog days of summer are now taken to be the hottest, most uncomfortable part of this season in the Northern Hemisphere.

But, September is on the horizon, which gives me hope for cooler days and for the local art scene to get really busy again, so get ready for a PACKED fall schedule.

Stay tuned for my inaugural FALL PREVIEW GUIDE! If you haven't submitted your events yet for September through November, you need to do it no later than this Friday August 23, 2024 if you want your events to be considered for inclusion. Of course, there will be advertising opportunities! Contact me!

As always, please invite your friends to subscribe to this weekly MUSED Houston Art Events newsletter AND to check out my online calendar for the more complete list of visual art events happening in Houston!
