Hello from the Other Side
We might not be on the other side yet, but over the past six months we have certainly figured out how to work in a dramatically new environment. It is amazing how our practices have continued, largely uninterrupted. Now that we have settled in, we wanted to take a break from our Zoom meetings, backyard gardens, and back to school activities to reach out again.

Another area that has taken up a lot of time is keeping up with all of the new legislation. We have been partnering with our colleagues on the finance and corporate teams to stay informed and have launched the COVID-19 Resource Center for up-to-date legal analysis on issues posed by the pandemic. If we can help in any other way, please do not hesitate to reach out.

He focuses his practice on government investigations, corporate compliance, white collar defense and complex commercial litigation.

Golden Spoke Award
We are also proud to recognize Kim Cochran who was awarded the prestigious Golden Spoke award from Wells Fargo. It is the bank’s highest recognition offered annually to approximately 1% of the bank’s employees, and she is one of only nine lawyers to win the award this year. In her short time since joining the bank, Kim has become an invaluable member of the Recovery and Resolution planning team. Kim joined MVA as an attorney on the litigation team in 2013 and left to join Wells Fargo in 2018.
Civic Engagement

MVA is one of over 125 law firms that have joined the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA). LFAA is a coalition of firms that will work with other organizations that are uniting to identify and dismantle systemic racism in the law and in government institutions. MVA is the only North Carolina based law firm to initially sign-on to the effort.

MVA Video on Civic Engagement
Finally, we wanted to share with you a video created by our White Collar, Regulatory Defense, and Investigations and Financial Regulatory Advice & Response teams and shared with their clients. It addresses important issues on our civic engagement over the past several months and discusses our transition to a work-from-home environment. We hope you enjoy seeing some familiar faces.
