WNV dead bird hotline opens soon-response requested

Dear Local Agencies:

West Nile virus dead bird testing season is approaching. The public hotline (877-WNV-BIRD; 877-968-2473) will again be "live" starting April 15th, and public online reporting  will also continue  ( www.westnile.ca.gov).  Staffed hours will be 8 am to 4:30 pm, M-F with Sundays added later in the season.

Please respond by clicking here:  leslie.foss@cdph.ca.gov  to indicate whether your agency will begin accepting submittals for dead bird pickups on April 15th,  and any species limitations (such as "corvids, raptors, and songbirds only"). Your agency's status will be programmed into the database.
