After Over 15 Years of Service, Mayor John McCauley Retires from Council, Mayor Jim Wickham Elected
At their June 21, 2022 meeting, the Mill Valley City Council conducted their annual mayoral transition and unanimously elected Jim Wickham as Mayor and Urban Carmel as Vice Mayor. Councilmembers and City staff also shared their thanks and appreciation for outgoing Mayor John McCauley for his two terms of service on the Planning Commission and two terms on the City Council, serving as Mayor in 2016 and 2021. Housing Element Update
City Planners anticipate the release of the Draft Housing Element by the end of June with a 30-day comment period. After the public comment period, the Draft will be sent to the State’s Dept of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for their review. Planners anticipate more than one round of comments from the State, and community members will have additional opportunities to submit comments with subsequent Drafts released after HCD’s initial review. MVPD Supports the Northern California Special Olympics - Yesterday, June 22, Mill Valley Police participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run across the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco. Thanks to all the other law enforcement agencies and volunteers that participated in this great event!
Parking Meters Fees Going Up-Time to Get ½ Off Residential Shopper Vehicle Permit (RSVP) - Parking meter rates are going up, which makes this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of purchasing a Resident Shopper Vehicle Permit (RSVP).
