Proposal to Renovate the Sequoia Theater - The California Film Institute (CFI), owner of the historic Sequoia Theater, has submitted a proposal to fully renovate and convert the two-screen Sequoia Theater with 604 seats into a new cinema and education center with four screens in theaters of various sizes and up to 500 seats, while retaining the historic building façade above the street level. Aiming to Protect Housing, City Considers Soft Story Retrofit Program - Work is currently underway on a proposed Soft Story Retrofit Program in Mill Valley, with an objective to protect existing housing stock in the community. The City estimates that as many as 125 buildings would be considered Soft Story (with 3 or more units) in City limits. Learn more about the proposed program.
