MVWIB wins new EPA grant
for expanded environmental training

The MVWIB was recently awarded another competitive Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training grant by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to prepare unemployed area residents for careers in environmental remediation and the storm water / wastewater industry.

This is MVWIB's 3rd consecutive grant in the last 5 years, and the 4th grant received since the inception of EPA's job training program.

Trainees will earn industry recognized credentials such as the OSHA 10 Safety, HAZWOPER and Lead & Asbestos worker certificates, the New England Water Pollution Control Association Grade 1 Wastewater Collections System certificate, and the Hoisting license. The first of three sessions will get underway next spring.
