Promoting the economic vitality of workers and employers in the Merrimack Valley

The Northeast Advanced Manufacturing  Consortium Preparing People f or Jobs in
Advanced Manufacturing
The Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium (NAMC) congratulates the 24 graduates of our 4th CNC Machining and Electronics Technology training programs! To date we've graduated 89 trainees, most of whom now have good jobs at advanced manufacturers in our region.  There are still a couple of recent graduates that have not yet been placed, so employers with openings should call Brian Norris, a NAMC Director located in the MVWIB, at 978-857-5394.

The NAMC is led by 4 Workforce Investment Boards (Greater Lowell, Merrimack Valley, Metro North, and Northshore).  Our training programs have been designed and delivered by 3 community colleges (Middlesex, Northern Essex, and North Shore) and 6 technical high schools (Greater Lowell, Shawsheen, Greater Lawrence, Whittier, Essex, and Peabody).  These schools partner with the NAMC, including the members of our Business Leadership Team, to make sure the training is relevant to the needs of regional advanced manufacturers.
As we start our 5th cycle and prepare for our already funded 6th and 7th cycles, we are in the planning stages to expand our training options and geographical reach.   We are now working with Mount Wachusett Community College to secure funding for future training.  Mount Wachusett brings training expertise in Quality, Automation Technology, and Robotics.

To win additional funding we must demonstrate strong support from our advanced manufacturing partners. If you are or know of an advanced manufacturer searching for trained and well-motivated employees, we ask you to partner with us.  Your collaboration can take many forms, from outright cash support to in-kind support services, to the promise to consider hosting internships or interviewing graduates for hire.  Brian Norris is available at 978-857-5394 or to discuss.
While managing our own training programs, we have also worked with MassMEP, the E- Team, the Center for Manufacturing Technology, and Somerville High School to make sure each of these unique training programs can thrive and train dozens more capable workers.  The unprecedented success of these NAMC partnerships has proven that we can build sustainable capacity and capability to meet the training needs of 21st century advanced manufacturers.
