Westchester County Launches $5 Million Business FIRST Grant Program for MWBEs, SDVOBs & DBEs

 

The Westchester County Office of Economic Development recently launched a $5 Million round of Business FIRST Grant funding to support Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs), Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Businesses (SDVOBs) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.


Congratulations to all Westchester County based MWBEs that were approved for a Westchester County Business First Grant! Grant awardees including Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. and many of our clients. We truly thank The County of Westchester and Community Capital for this round of funding which will provide qualifying MWBEs, SDVOBs, and DBEs with grants of up to $45,000. Special thanks to Westchester County’s Executive George Latimer, Director of Economic Development Bridget Gibbons, Director of MWBE Development and Immigrant Affairs Martha Lopez, Community Capital’s VP, Special Projects & Compliance Veronica Coleman, partner Charlene Nixon, President and CEO of the Westchester Multicultural Chamber, for their support, administration and marketing of this initiative!


The Westchester County Business FIRST grant program is being administered by the Westchester County Office of Economic Development through the American Rescue Plan. The Westchester County Office of Economic Development works to improve the County’s economic well-being and quality of life. INTRODUCING THE BOSS NETWORK and SAGE INVEST IN PROGRESS GRANT – APPLY BY FEBRUARY 25, 2023!

To qualify for The BOSS Network and Sage Invest in Progress Grant, you must:   

  • Be a Black woman-identifying entrepreneur who is the leading executive (i.e. Founder) of a for-profit small business founded in the last five years
  • Have a demonstrated need for funds
  • Be willing to participate in a virtual mentoring program


The application deadline is February 25, 2022, at 6 p.m. ET. So, if you are a Black women entrepreneur in need of funding and support for your small business, don’t miss this opportunity to be considered for The BOSS Network and Sage Invest in Progress Grant.
