Happy MWBE Wednesday and Black Business Month to our Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. family, friends, clients and community partners!
We hope that everyone is well and enjoying the last few days of summer!
August 1st marked the beginning of Black Business Month, a time to celebrate the success and innovation of African American entrepreneurs. This special month was created in 2020 as a way to recognize and uplift black-owned businesses. From tech startups to family-run restaurants, this observance is an opportunity to show support for businesses that have been historically underrepresented in the marketplace. Whether you are looking for new products or services, now is the perfect time to discover amazing black-owned businesses and help them thrive!
| |
How to Celebrate Black Business Month
1) Shop at black-owned businesses: Shopping at black-owned businesses is one of the best ways to celebrate Black Business Month. Make sure to patronize local black-owned stores, restaurants, salons, and more. For a list of black-owned businesses in the area, check out the Peekskill NAACP Black Business Directory.
2) Share black business stories: Share inspiring stories about black business owners and entrepreneurs on social media and with your networks. This will help to spread awareness about the importance of supporting black-owned businesses.
3) Host a fundraiser: Organize a fundraiser to benefit a black-owned business or organization. Ask attendees to make a donation of their choice and host a silent auction to raise money for the cause.
4) Support black business events: Attend events hosted by black-owned businesses or organizations. These events are great opportunities to network, learn more about the mission of the organization and even purchase products and services.
5) Donate to a black business charity: Find a black business charity and make a donation in honor of Black Business Month. Your donation will help the charity continue their work in supporting and empowering African American entrepreneurs.

On August 13, 1999, Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. was established as a wellness company for individuals. Our mission was to specialize in fitness for your mind, body, and soul! Our mentor, breast cancer survivor and entrepreneur Shellie Anderson-Tazi, encouraged us to establish Aero-Ba-Soul Inc. after we attended a few of her aerobics classes.
24 years later, we are still going strong, specializing in helping entrepreneurs, businesses, agencies, and educational institutions get well through our business coaching, technical assistance, wellness workshops, workforce development training, and more!
