ELECTRONIC ILLNESS & INJURY REPORTS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED TO OSHA
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has started requiring the electronic filing of OSHA 300A logs (Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses).

Covered establishments (check  here to determine whether or not this applies to you) were required to electronically submit information from their 2017 OSHA 300A log  by July 1, 2018 through a portal on the  OSHA website.  If you missed the July 1 deadline you can still file the information, although it will be flagged "late" by OSHA.

OSHA has also announced recently that they are going to focus some of their inspections on establishments that have not yet filed their 300A logs electronically. So, even if you get the information filed late, it may be worthwhile to do so.

View the OSHA announcement  here.

DEMOCRATS TAKE HOUSE, GOVERNORSHIPS; REPUBLICANS TIGHTEN GRIP ON U.S. SENATE
Democratic Donkey Traditionally, the first mid-term election after a president's election results in losses for the leader's party in Congress.

This was again the case during the recently concluded 2018 mid-terms where the Democrats won back the House, but failed to win a majority in the Senate.  It is a highly unusual for the President's party to lose seats in one chamber of Congress while gaining seats in the other.

Democrats gained 36 seats in the House and control that chamber 228-199 with 8 seats undecided as of Nov. 12. Republicans control the Senate 51-47 with two seats undecided as of Nov. 13.

At the state level, Democrats retook control of the
Minnesota House and won gubernatorial victories in IL, MN and WI.
  GOP Elephant
Democrats have picked up seven governors' seats, giving them control of 23 governorships. Republicans control 25.
There are two races that are still undecided.
