Due to the Level 4 restrictions which came into force on the 19th December, the Welsh Government has added an additional £110 million to the ERF Restrictions Business Fund and ERF Restrictions Discretionary Grant.
If you received the non-domestic rate firebreak grant in October, then your respective local authority will automatically be processing the Restrictions Business Fund grant and there is no need to reapply. The grants will be between (£3,000-£5,000) depending on the size of your business – the exception to this is caravan and camping sites, who will need to apply through your local authority via the links below.
If you did not receive the firebreak grant, then you will also need to apply.
There is also a Discretionary Grant available for businesses who are not business rated (£2000). The discretionary grant won’t be automatic; you will need to apply for this one, even if you received it last time.
Powys Self Catering - please ignore the sentence on the Powys County Council website which reads:
Please note at present Welsh Government guidance for closed businesses does NOT include Self-Catering Accommodation. This has been raised as an issue and we hope to be in a position soon to confirm the intention of Welsh Government around this business group. If Self-Catering businesses have been forced to close from 20th December, AND they have been paid the Firebreak Grant, these business will receive an automatic payment. We will advise here shortly of the outcome and update the website here.
Our team worked hard yesterday to urge Powys CC officials to automatically include self-catering and to not delay these payments.
We’re pleased to announce that this morning we have received an email from Powys to advise that this is being removed today, and that self catering businesses who received the firebreak grant in October will also automatically receive the restrictions grant. If you have a self catering business and you did not receive this, please get your application in ASAP.
