MWT Coronavirus Newsletter - Issue 39
Timetable for Re-opening Dates - some restriction relaxations brought forward
For any members who have not yet signed up for Visit Wales Industry Updates, please be advised:

People will be able to form an extended household, visit the gym or take part in organised outdoor activities a week earlier than planned, as the public health situation - and vaccination rates - continue to improve.

Further easements to restrictions in the coming weeks will be subject to the public health situation remaining favourable. These will be confirmed at the next three-weekly review of the coronavirus regulations on 22 April.
International 'Safe Travels Stamp'
Tourism businesses in the UK registered to the ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard scheme can now be automatically issued with the international ‘Safe Travels’ stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

The ‘Good to Go’ scheme has been recognised by the WTTC as meeting its international global standardised health and hygiene protocols and for its role in supporting the recovery of the UK tourism sector. The WTTC stamp enables travellers to recognise destinations around the world which have adopted global standardised protocols - so they can experience ‘Safe Travels.’

VisitBritain is coordinating the Safe Travels stamp issue in the UK, on behalf of the WTTC, for businesses in its scheme, with those who welcome international visitors particularly encouraged to apply.

If you have not already applied for the Good to Go scheme you can find out more and complete the self certification online.

If you haven't updated your availability for a while then our website may have automatically removed your calendar from your entry due to inactivity.

To give it a kick please log into GL and put a tick in your availability calendar > save it > then remove & resave. This will tell the system that you're still active and ready for bookings.

Any problems please let us know!
Attractions/Non-essential retail re-opening
We are conscious that it will be helpful, particularly for accommodation providers, to be updated when individual attractions/non-essential retailers are re-opening.

Not everyone will be re-opening their doors at the same time, but those staying in the area will appreciate knowing where they can go.

We don't yet have an expected date for indoor attractions re-opening. However, non essential retail can now re-open (from 12th April) and outdoor attractions and outdoor hospitality can re-open from 26th April. Of course being able to open does not mean that all businesses will open immediately.

We have therefore pinned an announcement in our MWT Cymru Members' Facebook group, so you can comment when you are planning to re-open. Please add your attraction/retail/food & drink business to the thread, if you haven't already.
Health Impacts of Covid-19 – Employer Survey
There is still time to complete the survey by clicking on the link below.

Survey deadline extended - 18th April 2021

Healthy Working Wales need your help. They are still keen to hear from a wide range of employers across Wales to better understand the current and future health impacts on employers and their staff of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In partnership with Opinion Research Services (ORS) they have developed an online questionnaire for employers:
  • To capture the health needs of the Welsh workforce now and going forward
  • To determine key issues to consider and how to respond
  • To find out what support is currently available and identify any gaps in provision.

Healthy Working Wales will use these insights to work with policy makers and other partners to address the needs identified. The insights will also inform how they best develop their Healthy Working Wales programmes to support employers to address the pandemic recovery needs of their workforce and contribute to improving the health of the working population in Wales.
