Wow issue 45! Who would have thought a year ago so much would have changed, but as you have all probably seen, tomorrow Wales moves into Alert Level 0!
Changes that will happen from tomorrow (Saturday 7th August 2021)
- Restrictions will be removed and replaced with the ongoing requirement for all organisations and businesses to carry out Covid risk assessments - These will determine what reasonable measures are needed to be put in place to keep workers and customers and visitors safe.
- There will also be no legal limits on the number of people who can meet others indoors so all businesses can reopen fully.
- Face coverings will continue to be required by law in Wales in shops and on public transport but no longer required in hospitality settings.
Although these restrictions will no longer be a legal requirement. A business still has a legal obligation to take reasonable measures to minimise the risk of exposure and spread of coronavirus to staff and customers. Based on your risk assessment you may take the decision to implement measures within your business. These could include:
- Physical distancing in the premises
- Limiting numbers or group sizes
- Providing contact details to support contact tracing
- Providing table service
- Limiting numbers of people at pinch-points, such as toilets
- Use of face coverings, even in indoor premises not normally open to the public
- Improving ventilation
- Regular testing of staff
