Our next Members' Meeting: Wednesday 1st March at 10am

Our next online members' meeting will take place on Wednesday 1st March at the slighter earlier time of 10am.


Meetings last approximately an hour and are a great way to catch up with Val and the team at MWT, and your fellow members.


At this meeting we will also hear from the Visit Wales Quality Assurance team about grading and their new Welcome Awards. These awards acknowledge businesses who have provided added facilities, services and information to meet specific requirements for Families, Pets, Anglers, Bikers, Cyclists, Walkers, Golfers, TV/Film, and Motorhomes.

Wales Food & Drink Awards 2023

The Wales Food and Drink Awards are now open for nominations, celebrating the best food and drink producers in Wales and the contribution they make to the Welsh economy. For its second year, the awards will be held in Llandudno at Venue Cymru, on the 18th of May 2023.


The Wales Food and Drink Awards 2023 are free to enter and are accepting entries until 17th March 2023. More details can be found here.

Mid Wales tourism businesses urged to capitalise on trails theme for 2023


Tourism, hospitality, attraction and activity businesses across Mid Wales are being encouraged to be creative to capitalise on this year’s theme adopted by Visit Wales, “Llwybrau. Wales, by Trails”.

 

Val Hawkins, chief executive of MWT Cymru (Mid Wales Tourism), believes the theme, which encourages both visitors and residents to explore epic trails, is perfectly suited to Powys, Ceredigion and Southern Snowdonia.

Global recognition as In the Welsh Wind’s Dewi Sant Gin named Best in Wales


MWT Cymru members, In the Welsh Wind, have added to their growing list of successes after its Eccentric Spirits Dewi Sant gin was named the Best Contemporary Gin in Wales at the World Gin Awards 2023.


Dewi Sant was named ‘Best in Country’ by one of the most prestigious drinks industry awards and will compete to be crowned the ‘world’s best’, with the winner revealed next month.


​The Dewi Sant gin, one of eight spirits in the Eccentric Spirits Collection produced by the distillery, also claimed the Gold Medal in the Best Contemporary Gin category.
