Priority: Representing your interests
MWT maintains a good working relationship with Welsh Government and elected representatives in Wales - vital in Covid times when everyone needs to come together.
As we keep a close eye on Omicron, this strong working relationship between the business community and the public sector continues to be more important than ever.

MWT input into discussions and consultations, regarding lobbying for VAT reduction and business rate reform, and significant policy issues such as statutory registration and tourism tax.

MWT supports the Wales Tourism Alliance and the tourism sector on the Mid Wales Regional Forum, the Wales Cross Party Group on Tourism, Growing Mid Wales Partnership, Transport for Wales Regional Forum, Caravan and Camping Forum for Wales, and Destination Partnerships. We also work closely with local authority officials.
Priority: Working with Local Communities
It is important for the future of our sector that our communities remain supportive of the tourism sector and are open and welcoming to visitors.

With the recent increase in Covid cases across Wales, its important that we continue to remind everyone how much our businesses do to support the community effort to keep everyone safe,

We know many of our members are very engaged locally to ensure our communities remain 'safe'. We also welcome local community groups and town council into membership.
Priority: Regional Marketing Campaign
New for 2022 is the first Mid Wales Visitor Guide, which will be launched in April 2022.

This is our first printed destination visitor guide for Mid Wales, and we encourage all members to support us with this. More information about this new publication can be found here - Please consider the benefits / advertising your business

Production of our 2022/23 Mid & West Coast Wales Bedroom Browser is also in full swing. Information here.

We are also reviewing our Visit Mid Wales website, social media and press and PR requirements. There is a lot of planning and preparation currently underway and we welcome and ideas on how to keep Mid Wales on our visitors' radar.

Latest Mid Wales Press Releases

We are delighted that Ian Rutherford, owner of King Arthur's Labyrinth, Corris Mine Explorers and Corris Craft Centre, has been made a life member of MWT Cymru.

His appointment to the exclusive group of life members was confirmed at our virtual annual meeting when he was warmly praised for his service to tourism in Mid Wales.

Check out the latest (Jan) issue of the best-selling MMM (the Motorhomes Magazine) for a six page feature on Powys. This results from a press trip we organised in August last year for the Editor and Photographer of MMM.

MMM's digital editions (with PocketMags and Exact editions) also feature many more photographs from the same trip.

Here's what the Editor of MMM had to say: "The issue is out now and it is, indeed, a great issue to be featured in as motorhomers and their friends study the magazine for inspiration for their travelling year ahead. At this time of the year especially, the readers are very keen to plan their tours!

Certainly we will be back to Mid Wales, hopefully some time in 2022. It was such a successful, enjoyable and productive trip and, of course, Mid Wales is so beautiful."

I've already had quite a few comments from readers who have been inspired by the feature and tell me that they are putting Powys in to their travel plans."
