June Round-Up

Innovation _ Diversification Wales.JPG

Zoe and Claire were at the Innovation & Diversification Wales show last month in Llanelwedd.

It was great to hear from some inspiring people about their tourism development plans.

Behind the scenes we've been busy organising a press trip for the Travel editor of MMM The Motorhomer's Magazine, and we've just received this lovely feedback:

"Thank you for all your organisation of and help with our wonderful Mid Wales trip. We have just got back and did not want to leave; it was so great and I have much to write about and Robin, the photographer, has some fantastic pictures."

On the press/PR front, we were also delighted to be sent the coverage from another press trip we organised, this time for Live24-Seven In Warwickshire, Worcestershire & The City. See p128 of their May edition. This piece also featured in The Wye Valley & Cotswolds Magazine.

Thank you to all MWT members who support these press trips and make them possible.

Politicians impressed by tourism investment but recruitment a big concern - MWT Cymru

MWT Cymru are active members of the Wales Tourism Alliance. The Trade Associations that represent genuine self-catering businesses in Wales (Wales Tourism Alliance, UKHospitality Cymru and PASC UK Ltd. Wales Branch) will meet Welsh Government with a view to agreeing mitigation measures to reduce the harm that the introduction of the 182-day occupancy rule will cause real Welsh-owned self-catering businesses.

These are not second homes or casual lets. Over 30% of these businesses have said that they will have to close or sell without these exemptions.
