Spotlight: Nannerth Country Holidays
"We bought the 200 acre farm by sealed tender 33 years ago when it was in a derelict state. An old fashioned and very beautiful farm, Nannerth Fawr had no modern buildings and the farmhouse was without a bathroom, had no hot water and ancient wiring. Likewise the farm had collapsing fences and gates."
Continuing our spotlight on some of our longest standing members, in celebration of MWT's 30th year, we're delighted to publish this piece from Alison Gallagher at Nannerth Country Holidays; quality self catering cottages on a working farm near Rhayader and The Elan Valley.

Enhancements to Show me Wales
We've been doing some work recently to enhance the look and functionality of our pan Wales website, www.showmewales.co.uk

As some of you may be aware, your membership not only gives you a listing on Visit Mid Wales (depending on your location), but also on Show Me Wales too.

Enhancements include:

  • New layouts for business listing pages (using larger 'gallery images)
  • video headers
  • Book direct / book ticket buttons enable (to bring the site in line with Visit Mid Wales)

''Meet Britain's crowd-free coastless counties''
It was great to see 'Pretty Powys' included in this Telegraph article, including mention of Offa's Dyke and Glyndwr's Way, Machynlleth, the Cambrian Mountains and the Elan Valley, along with MWT members, Caer Beris Manor Hotel.
MWT does a lot of work behind the scenes, submitting editorial suggestions and responding to journalist requests for information.

Writer Vitali Vitaliev also sent us the link to his latest article, stemming from his press trip we organised earlier this year: After All: what they call the ‘facilities’ in Welsh, Irish and Hungarian. Featuring MWT members, Maesmawr Farm Resort, Portmeirion, and Fforest Field Caravan & Campsite.

Here's what Helen Werin, Travel editor of MMM The Motorhomers' Magazine had to say about her recent press trip:

"Just to say thank you for enabling our superb trip to Mid Wales. It was a very successful trip in terms of exploration, inspiration and smashing pictures. Thanks again for all your help; it is much appreciated."

The Wales Tourism Alliance is calling for the introduction of a Register of Pop-Up Campsites to help councils manage unlicensed camp site accommodation across Wales.

Although 56-day pop-up campsites are permitted under the Welsh Government’s relaxation of the General Permitted Development Order, the growth of new sites in some destinations has been pronounced, placing additional pressures on natural and built resources.
