GreenShorts Workshop
Staff from the MY HERO Project collaborated with UCLA Institute and Environmental Sustainability and New Roads School students and staff to present a workshop for high school students about Environmental Video Production. High school students in Los Angeles are welcome to submit their work to UCLA GreenShorts. The New Roads and MY HERO festivals are open to students worldwide:
Zach Kroesen and McKenna Light of Rush-Henrietta High School are the winners of the 2020 Mentor Contest for their outstanding essays about their mentor heroes, both of whom facilitate school-age community theater programs.

Thanks to the Max Factor Family Foundation for their support of MY HERO's educational outreach with LAUSD schools. Jamie Gravell and Shannon Luders-Manuel are mentoring classes at the UCLA Mann Community School in South Los Angeles. Curriculum includes viewing short MY HERO films and reading the MY HERO book. The 7th and 8th grade students will develop and present their own multimedia hero stories using MY HERO's multimedia authoring tools.
Learning Circle
The current MY HERO Learning Circleis underway and includes teachers and students from Taiwan, Senegal, Slovenia, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Classes will share and discuss their ideas about heroes, while learning more about the cultures of the various countries.
The MY HERO Global Learning Circle, a partnership with iEARN (International Education and Resource Network), gives educators and students from around the world the opportunity to collaborate on the topic of heroes. Learn more.
