Dear Friends,
The final submission deadline for the 19th Annual MY HERO International Film Festival has been extended to October 1, 2023.
The festival offers prizes for short, hero-themed films made by:elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as professional filmmakers.
Categories include documentary, narrative, experimental, immersive, animation, and music video. Thanks to our generous sponsors and partners, several Special Awards come with cash prizes.
Previous winning films are available online and are used to enrich learning in classrooms around the world. Free Media Arts Resources help students create their own inspiring films. Students submitting films may request a fee waiver by emailing: media@myheroproject.org.
Watching and voting on this year's short films is a great way to explore the theme of heroism in your classroom and homes. The festival staff curates a Public Ballot with 30 minutes of short films, which can be viewed during a classroom period. Students can cast their votes, in the late fall, for the People's Choice Winner.
