Bring MY HERO into Your Classroom
As you prepare for this academic year, we hope you'll engage your students with our media resources and storytelling tools. Your students can share their stories of hope and inspiration with our global audience. There are many ways you and your students can get involved:
- Encourage students to create media campaigns to support humanitarian causes by researching, designing and producing short films. Use our Media Arts Resources to help them get started: myhero.com/MediaArts
- Outstanding short films can be submitted to win prizes at the MY HERO Film and Multimedia Festival. Fee waivers are available for students upon request. Festival Details.
- Art/Digital Media Teachers - Challenge students to create portraits of their heroes and share their artwork on MY HERO's online global gallery. The Shetterly Art Award, given by artist Robert Shetterly, comes with a $500 prize for an outstanding portrait of a local or global hero.
- Celebrate an Unsung Hero - Promote collaboration and project-based learning by creating a music video that recognizes a local or global hero. Enter the MY HERO Song Contest.

Their stories are well written and their heroes thoughtfully chosen. They are wonderful examples of how to write interesting, informative and inspiring stories, always in their own words.
