November Newsletter
Dear Educators and Parents,

Online judging is underway for the 2020 MY HERO International Film Festival. We invite you and your students to cast a VOTE! All are invited to view short films, at home or in the classroom, and help select the winners.

Visit MY HERO's Public Voting page for details on categories and films. Each ballot has been curated for approximately 30 minutes of optimal classroom viewing.

Voting takes place Nov. 1 - Nov. 30. Winners will be announced December 12, 2020.

These short films offer much-needed inspiration in these challenging times. We hope you will enjoy them.

Sincerely,

The MY HERO Team

ISTE 2020 Virtual Conference
Join MY HERO Education Outreach Director Laura Nietzer at this year’s virtual ISTE Conference and learn how teachers and students use MY HERO’s free media resources to enrich learning. Laura will host two sessions:

Sunday, November 29 from 9:30-10:30am (PST)
Use MY HERO Resources: Curate Stories, Art and Films Celebrating Heroes

Thursday, December 3 from 12:00-1:00pm (PST)
MY HERO: Stories, Art and Films Celebrating Heroes Around the Globe

Educators will learn:

  • the many ways they can integrate MY HERO's rich multimedia library of hero stories, art, films and music in the classroom for any grade level.

  • how to curate a webpage organizer of content from the online library for use with students.

MY HERO has resources for students to use as they create and publish their own multimedia projects.

Teachers will be shown how to empower their students by having them create their own inspiring media. Students become reporters and filmmakers, telling the stories of the heroes in their communities.

If you can't make these sessions, please reach out to Laura Nietzer for support: laura@myheroproject.org.
