Dear Friends,

Summertime is beach time and to honor those who protect our precious water resources we congratulate the winners of the 2022 Sylvia Earle Ocean Conservation Award.

This annual award is named for Dr. Sylvia Earle, world-renowned marine biologist, author and explorer, and is sponsored by MacGillivray-Freeman Films’Educational Foundation's One World One Ocean campaign.

In this newsletter, we also share upcoming events and contests. Please remember the final deadline to submit short films for the 2022  MY HERO International Film Festival is September 1st. We will be presenting several Special Awards with cash prizes for professional and student work.

Wishing you all the best,

Summer Ideas for Teachers and Parents

Inspire learning all summer long with MY HERO

Become a MY HERO Ambassador in three simple steps:

  1. Become familiar with the MY HERO resources and digital storytelling tools you will be using with students.
  2. Help your students use MY HERO's digital storytelling tools to publish their projects.
  3. Be a mentor for new teachers as they learn about MY HERO's multimedia tools and resources.

Earn a micro-credential for each step and a macro-credential when all three steps are completed. Teachers who have already used MY HERO resources with their students, and/or have had students submit projects using our digital storytelling tools will be given credit for their past participation.
