BODY SAFETY REMINDERS

The holiday season can be filled with visits from friends and family members. Adults often expect or request physical attention from children, such as a hug or a kiss on the cheek. It is important to recognize a child's comfort level in these moments and to remind them that they have their own personal boundaries. Please click on the video link for a quick reminder of what you should cover with your children before heading off to see loved ones for the holidays.
HELP GIVE JOY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

The holiday season is fast approaching, and we are gearing up for our annual Holiday Project! Each year, our Holiday Project ensures that vulnerable children served by CACCC will have a happy holiday. You can help fulfill a holiday wish for a child victimized by abuse this year! Here are a few ways you can help:

Donate Gifts  - Teen items, electronics, gift cards, and toys to stock the Holiday Shop

Adopt-a-Child  - Child selects up to three gifts   $125 commitment

Adopt-a-Family  - Family provides a list of immediate needs and children's holiday wishes  $1,000 commitment
MY SAFE SPACE

When children experience or witness a traumatic event in their immediate personal space, such as their bedroom, that space can become a daily reminder of their worst memories.

The My Safe Space Room Makeover Project is a grant provided through the CAC of Texas Women Of Courage group which provides funding to local Children’s Advocacy Centers to help transform a child’s space from one of trauma to one of healing. Thanks to this initiative, our Family Advocates were recently able to make over the room of two young sisters, giving them a place to create new, happy memories and to heal.
