Youth Garden built at Youth Center

Youth Center garden

Milford Youth Center staff and youth worked hard to complete the creation of the first youth garden at the Youth Center! Tomatoes, strawberries and many more fruit & vegetables will be grown in raised garden beds thanks to a mini-grant awarded to MYC youth members. Youth recognized the importance of providing a healthy alternative to the members of the youth center - which this garden will now make available.

Developmental Assets Campaign

JAG logoOver the next year, JAG will be collaborating with these organizations to increase the knowledge of developmental assets. We will be holding a conference focusing on the developmental assets on September 23, 2011 through sponsorship from the CHNA-6, administering a social marketing campaign, making it part of our Find Yourself Friday events as well as exploring other avenues for success of the messages to the community for example implementation of Search Institute survey's in the Fall 2011. It is the plan at this time to promote monthly Developmental Assets through our campaign called "Where you @?" to all youth and community members to increase the protective factors for individuals and our community at large, while decrease risk factors around underage drinking and other high risk behaviors.
