MYHA Participates in the Festival of Trees!

MYHA parents and players created this beautiful tree for the Progressive Club Festival of Trees!

This year, the Progressive Club awarded MYHA a $3000 grant for the loaner gear program. Our association was asked to provide a Christmas tree to help the Progressive Club with their fundraising efforts. Thanks to these great hockey moms and their skaters for building this amazing tree. Ornaments are all homemade from up-cycled hockey socks, jerseys, and laces. The event is this Saturday, December 2nd, from 10-6 pm at Northfork Lodge & Cabins. If you are in town this weekend go check it!

USA Hockey on Track to Require Neck Guards for all Youth Hockey Players

USA Hockey Issued this Statement on Saturday, November 11, 2023

TO: USA Hockey Members

SUBJECT: Board of Directors Action

At its meeting today, the USA Hockey Board of Directors unanimously voted to request the USA Hockey Safety and Protective Equipment Committee begin the process of recommending potential rule changes regarding neck laceration protection. The intention of this effort is to advance solutions that best serve all of our members.

Any potential rule change proposal(s) could be addressed as early as

USA Hockey's Winter Meeting in January.

USA Hockey continues to recommend that all players wear a neck laceration protector that covers as much of the neck area as possible, in addition to cut-resistant socks, sleeves or undergarments.
