As we continue our journey together in growing the Maaco brand and your entrepreneurial opportunities, we would like to share an update on our growing strength, a new incentive only available to Maaco franchisees, and most importantly, celebrate franchisees that have opened a new location this year.


First and foremost, I would like to celebrate growth and sincerely welcome the new franchisees that have joined our family this year including Dennis Radtke, Jeremy Fixler, Alejandro Campos, Deepak Hingorani, Bilal Bhatti, Adam Rey, and Diego Saco. As of July, our resale and new unit growth for the year stands at 19 shops. This number includes first time franchisees and longtime franchisees, like Mulford Waldrop and Chad Misko, who just acquired their tenth location and are still growing!

As eager, new owners come into resale locations, they are on average increasing sales by 33% and cars by 20% YoY. Outstanding results through passionate leadership, dedication to implementing Maaco processes, and leveraging Maaco support team resources.


We would also like to give a special shout out to the 27 owners that have renewed their agreement in the trailing 12 months and say THANK YOU for your ongoing commitment to the Maaco family. Your dedication continues to lay a strong foundation for continued, mutual success.


With so many committed new and existing Maaco owners, our main focus for growth going forward is on adding new locations to whitespace markets and those whose shops are at capacity. While we have several new licenses in the pipeline for growth over the next 5 years, it’s clear that we have many customers, both retail and fleet, across multiple markets, in need of our services today. All this has us excited to offer an exclusive growth incentive, only available to the Maaco family.


If you purchase a new license to open another shop in 2024, you will receive a 2% royalty rate for the first two years AND we will cover $5,000 of your grand opening marketing funds. This offer is contingent on the following:

  • This offer applies to existing franchisees only.
  • The incentive applies specifically to adding an additional shop above and beyond any prior license(s) purchased or signed development agreement(s).
  • The new license must be purchased by Friday, December 1, 2023.
  • Shop MUST open in 2024 to receive incentive benefits.


As mentioned, one key area of opportunity for continued growth is establishing more fleet centers and growing our footprint to serve more national fleet customers. National Fleet work is a multi-billion dollar opportunity for our industry, to which we have only touched the surface and continue to see YoY growth every year. As a system, we are currently up 7% in national fleet cars and growing more every day! ARO has also increased by 20% versus the prior year. Additionally, the new ClaimDriver enhancements continue to optimize the fleet billing process, sending weekly payments to you, and boasting a 98.8% approval rate on all invoices through the platform. Given these industry trends and recent enhancements, there has never been a better time to explore fleet center growth opportunities. 


Growth is not confined to just physical buildings and new franchisees. To continue growing, it is integral to understand consumer behavior and perception as it relates to our brand. Data from the marketing team has revealed a 65% level of brand awareness compared to “competitors” in the 10-28% awareness range. Positive brand sentiment has grown from 30% in 2019, to 82.8% in 2023. Not only are more consumers familiar with the brand, but they are also developing more positive associations with the brand.
