BOARD NEWS!

2023 MIC Annual Report President's Statement

Dear MIC Members, Sponsors, Volunteers, and Friends,

We hope you and your family had a sensational Christmas Holiday season and wish you a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year.

We are excited to report to you how we fared in 2023. It was a remarkable and historic year, with the onboarding of the new city of Mableton. Mableton is continuing to experience unprecedented growth and development. The Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC), pronounced “Mick,” has been advocating for smart redevelopment of our community for over 20 years.

The immense scope of our work is shown in our 2023 Annual Report. While further improvement in our city is still needed, Mableton is emerging as a shining community on the hill.

Looking forward, 2024 will be an exciting year, with continued progress on the way. On April 13, 2024, we will be hosting the 3rd annual Taste of Mableton, As always, the Taste of Mableton will showcase a fusion of flavors, passion, people, culture, service, and lifestyles. Additionally, we look forward to greater economic development and opportunities, more restaurants, a new Workforce Development Center, more places to feed and shelter our unhoused neighbors, expanded support of our local schools, public safety, businesses, places of worship, and non-profit organizations.

In closing, I would like to express our thanks and appreciation to MIC’s Board of Directors, as well as our volunteers, sponsors, elected officials, supporters, and friends. We value your support and your commitment to Mableton's sustainable growth, economic development, and education needs.

Respectfully,

Ray Thomas

President
