Historic Groundbreaking of the 100-mile Chattahoochee Riverlands Trail near Discovery Park at the River Line

Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC) is excited to have taken part in the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the 100-mile Chattahoochee Riverlands Trail. MIC has been, and continues to be, an active participant in the planning process since inception of the project. The development of this transformative trail project is being led by the Trust for Public Land (TPL). Special thanks to TPL, Cobb County leadership and staff, Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), contributors, donors, and others who have made it possible for Mableton to become the showcase site for launching this monumental project. Construction is scheduled to begin next month, and is expected to be completed by 2026.

Annually City View Elementary hosts a family night for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and their parents. This year the MIC Education committee as part of an ongoing literacy initiative, took advantage of the opportunity to support parents in their efforts to learn about the state-mandated Georgia Milestones End of Grade testing. Parents and students were surveyed to determine their understanding of the Milestone Assessments and how to best support their children in reading.
