Farmers Market Starts Today!
June 1st is here and it's the first day of the eighth season for Mableton Farmers Market. The Market, a community project of MIC, will be open every Thursday, 8:30am to 12:30pm, through August 24th. Come to the Mable House Complex at 5239 Floyd Road, and shop for fresh, nutritious, locally grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, breads, homemade jams and jellies, organic bars, bites, nuts and more. Visitors will also experience quick and easy food preparation demonstrations sponsored by Cobb & Douglas Public Health.
Wholesome Wave Georgia, another of the Market's partner organizations, is again on board this season to double the value of SNAP (food stamp) EBT transactions.
Believing that every family in Georgia should have access to quality food,
Thursday, June 8th, will be the first WWG SNAP Assistance visit at the Market. If you or anyone you know has questions about Food Stamp eligibility or issues with an existing SNAP account, WWG will have an expert representative to
help with eligibility for SNAP benefits, complete online applications or investigate problems with existing SNAP accounts. All consultations are completely confidential.
Stop by the Mableton Farmers Market! Questions? Contact Market Manager Dave McDaniel.

New County Regulations for Donation Boxes
Donation boxes like the one shown here can be a problem if they are not located properly
and taken care of. To address these issues, Cobb County has just begun a process for the owners of these boxes to register them. The registration will allow the County to contact the owner in the event of problems.
Additionally, donation boxes must:
- display the County registration sticker
- be on a paved surface to the side or rear of the building
- 5' wide x 7' tall x 7' deep or less
To report a non-compliant donation box, click here.
Questions? Call Cobb County Code Enforcement at 770-528-2180.
