Mabry Minute for Week of 9/15/19
ASE Starts THIS WEEK!

ASE beings THIS week - September 16-20.

Please check backpack tags for accuracy. Email us
if any changes are needed.

All ASE classes, to include Mondays, dismiss at 3pm.

Students are walked to HOST by their ASE instructor. ASE Pick up is through Carline or Parent Walk Up. Students may not walk home from ASE without an adult. For children's safety, DO NOT park in the loop in the front of the office.

Please be respectful of the PTA volunteers and ASE instructors' time and be prompt picking up students.
Bahamas Disaster Relief
Hillsborough County is collecting supplies for students in need in the Bahamas since Hurricane Dorian devastated the area. More information can be found here. You can bring in supplies and leave them with your student council rep through September 30. Items needed are:
  • Book bags
  • Paper
  • Pens/Pencils
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Erasers
  • Journals
  • Notebooks
  • Sticky Notes
  • Dry Erase Markers
  • Classroom caddy/organizers
  • School uniforms-polo shirts, khakis
  • etc

Book Fair is Coming!
The Fall Scholastic Fall Book Fair will be at Mabry from Monday, September 23 - Friday, September 27 during school hours for the students to shop. Families will be able to shop together on Monday, 9/23 from 1-3pm and again from 3-7pm on Thursday, 9/26 during conference night.

Reflections ART Program is Back!
Reflections is a PTA sponsored arts contest held at Mabry and judged by local community members. Students of all abilities K-5 have an opportunity to submit their own work of art based on their interpretation of this year's theme: Look Within. 
 
All art must be submitted by Friday, November 1st.

 
Volunteer judges are needed to judge the student works of art. Judging will take place between 11/4 - 11/8.  Anyone can be a judge!

Calling all parent volunteers!
Want to be included in your child's education? The school advisory council is looking for parents/business partners to work with faculty and staff to help improve our school. We will meet once a month. Our first meeting is Monday, September 16th at 2:30 in room 509. If you are interested email

Uniform Drive: September 16-20
Do you have school uniform clothes that your child has outgrown? The PTA's Community Outreach Committee will place a box for your donations in our school's front office from September 16 to 20. 

We are collecting uniform shirts, shorts, skirts, and long pants. These donations will go to Mabry dolphins and children at other schools in Hillsborough county. 
Save the date for the 2019 Walk-A-Thon!
WALKaTHON 2010
This year's Walk-A-Thon will be held on October 26th from 9AM-Noon on the Coleman Track.

Look for flyers to come home on Friday September 20th.
Walk to School Wednesdays
Walk to school every Wednesday and fill those  punch cards !  Here's the map of  walking routes and additional details.
Book Fair Helpers Needed!
With Book Fair coming Sep 23-27, we are looking for volunteers to help out with shifts. Please use this link to sign up! 
Conference Night
This will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 3:30-7:00pm in your child's classroom. Please be on the look out for an email from your child's teacher with more information. 
Weekly Reading Fun Tips
The Reading Enhancement Committee loves to focus on providing tools and tips for our little readers and parents to make it fun and it is time sensitive! 

This week's tip:
When you are out to eat, have your child read the menu to you and order their food!
The Dolphin Depot is online! Click here to order your items. Check out the order by dates to ensure your delivery arrives in time.
Latest time to sign students out of school: 
Early release Monday: 12:10pm
Tuesday-Friday: 1:10pm

Student dismissal changes must be submitted in writing, either hand written note or emailed to the student's teacher.  If emailing dismissal changes, please copy the school secretary at  jennifer.lovell@sdhc.k12.fl.us
