This is it! Time to get some of the most sought after Auction items of the year: Experiences with our Mabry Teachers and Faculty! Pre-register for bidding HERE. Bidding started on January 21 and ends on January 28 at 10:00 PM!

PTA General Membership Meeting
Mabry PTA's General Membership Meeting  is this Thursday, January 31st  at 6pm in the cafeteria . In addition to normal school business and a review of the budget, the PTA will be honoring the different cultures here at Mabry Elementary.   

The meeting will include a presentation by guest speaker  and Mabry mom ,  Raquel G. Hernandez MD, MPH   an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The presentation will focus on the diversity of communities and the impact to children's health and education.  

There will also be childcare for school-aged children. 
Students will be entertained with crafts and activities during the meeting. Please be sure to sign up in advance!

We are seeking Mabry families to prepare a dish from their native country or the region of the US they are from; a stipend will be provided. If you are interested in participating, please email school services.

We have asked and our community is responding, THANK YOU for the donations we have received thus far! We are now in the home stretch and need just a few more! Celebrate Literacy Week!
January 28- February 1 Mabry will participate in Celebrate Literacy Week!
The Mabry Media Center has lots of fun activities planned such as bookmark marking, creating class posters of books we WANT to read, an "Across the Genres" tic-tac-toe game and magazines at lunch!

On Thursday, January 31st Mrs. Rocha will host a Book Swap in the Library.  If you want to participate please bring 1 (or more) gently used books to the Media Center from Monday -- Wednesday and you will receive a ticket to participate.  On Thursday, return to the Media Center with your ticket and "book shop" for 1 book you have been wanting to read!  All the extra books will be donated to our school's free public lending library which will open next month! On Friday wear a favorite hat to school because it is "HATS OFF TO READING!"
Jump Rope for Heart
Going on now thru Feb 14 th .  This is a school wide fundraiser for the American Heart Association. For students in Grade 1 thru Grade 5, while at PE class, they will be learning how to jump rope while learning different way to maintain a healthy heart. Details HERE.

Safety Committee Announcement
You'll notice some new signage at the entrance and exits of the Neptune and Estrella drop off areas reminding you that those sidewalks are "Dolphin Crossings." Please remember to look for students before pulling out of the drop off lanes!
