Relay for Life T-shirt Design Contest
How would you like your design to be on the front of the Mabry Relay for Life t-shirt? If the answer is yes, then you should enter the t-shirt design contest.

Requirements to enter the contest can be found HERE. The deadline is Friday, November 8, 2019!

Weekly Reading Fun Tips
The Reading Enhancement Committee loves to focus on providing tools and tips for our little readers and parents to make it fun and it is time sensitive! 

This week's tip:
After trick or treating and the kids are sorting the candy, have them read the name of the candy off the wrapper before they enjoy it! Happy Halloween!
Tickets for Texting
Starting January 1, Tampa police will be issuing tickets for texting in a school or work zone. It will be considered a moving violation with the possibility of 3 points on a driving record and up to a $60 fine. Please be advised that Tampa PD will be implementing this change immediately, and while they may issue only warnings through the next couple of months, they will be stopping people. We all have a role to play in the safety of our children, so please avoid using your phone for texting while picking up and dropping off.

Internet Safety Message
Neither You Tube or You Tube Kids has adequate controls to prevent your child from viewing inappropriate content.  Please ensure that you have adequate parental controls on your child's devices, monitor their online usage, and regularly check their browsing history for in appropriate content.
Character Connection: Acceptance

Here are some discussion points to talk about acceptance with your child:
  • What do you think acceptance is and why is it important?
  • Tell me about a time when it was hard to include someone you didn't want to play with?
  • What are some ways you can practice acceptance of yourself and others?
Interested in teaching a lesson to Mabry students about your job or hobby? Contact your child's classroom teacher if you would like to participate in our Teach-In on November 21, 2019 to set up a time that works best for you.
Walk to School Wednesdays
Walk to school every Wednesday and fill those  punch cards !  Here's the map of  walking routes and additional details.
5th Grade Tribute

Details for how to order a yearbook tribute for your Prek-4th grader can be found HERE. Deadline to reserve tribute online only is 2/6/20.  Tribute is due in the yearbook basket by 2/13/20.
