Mabry Minute for Week of 12/04/16
Fall Family Dinner and Student Art Show
Thursday, Dec. 8th from 5-8 pm is the Fall Family Dinner and Mabry Arts Showcase! This year's theme is "Art through the Ages" and will include an art show, art activities, music performances, and an exciting Cave experience.
Dinner is served from 5:30 - 7 pm and is provided by local food trucks, Surf and Turf, Vanchetta, and  Empamamas. Each food truck will have a custom menu with a healthier child's option. The food trucks will be stationed in the gated teacher parking lot to the west of the cafeteria.  Seating will be provided. The Mabry Steel Pans Group will be performing for your listening pleasure and the Dolphin Depot will be open. This event is a great time to support the Mabry Arts program while visiting with fellow Mabry families.

Volunteers are needed, please click here to select a shift to help.  This is an exciting event and we look forward to seeing you there!
Walk to School Wednesday
It's time for our next Walk to School Wednesday, December 7th!  Join the Mabry Walking School Bus  at  7:10 am. Check for a map of bus routes and additional details. Again, all walkers will receive a prize and the class with the highest percentage of participation will receive a $100 gift certificate to purchase P.E. equipment for their classroom!

Students should sign in with their teacher when they get to class to be counted. Coffee and water will be available by the gate on Estrella outside the 1st grade wing. Last month, we had over 200 walkers and Mrs. Ratchford's class won with 70% participation! Can your class beat the record?

Students at Mabry have been hard at work the last few months conducting experiments and going through the scientific method. Now it's time to show off all that hard work!
Join us Tues. Dec. 6 from 7:30-8 am or 2:15-3pm to come view journals students used to document their findings during their investigations.   3-5 grade journals will be located in the Media Center and K-2 will have their boards outside their respective classrooms.
A huge thanks to all the teachers for their hard work and for the continued support from Mabry families.  It's activities like this that made Mabry students first in the district for science!!
