Mabry Minute for Week of 12/17/17

Your Donations Matter!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Thanksgiving food drive. The donations were distributed as follows:

1. Five (5) Mabry families received grocery bags full of food and $50 gift card to Publix (gift cards were purchased from PTA funds)

2. Westshore Elementary received ten (10) large boxes of food for their weekend back pack program.

3. The rest of the donations were given to Metropolitan Ministries.

Dolphin Giving Tree

Thank you to everyone already participating in our school's Adopt a Dolphin

Giving Tree. There have been a few more dolphin shaped ornaments added to the tree with a child's gift wish on each one. The tree is located in the front office. If you select an ornament, please log in your contact information in the book located under the tree. Gifts should be returned unwrapped in a shopping bag or gift bag. Please tag the gift with the ornament you selected, or the code on the ornament, and return it to our school's guidance department by December 18. Thank you so much for supporting Mabry students this holiday season.

Holiday Shoppe Success!

Thank you to our entire Mabry community for your support of our first Winter Wonderland Gift Shoppe. Thank you to the teachers for your patience as we worked through some of the kinks hosting a new program entails! Overall, it was a wonderful success! The holiday shoppe helped carry our school's focus this year on character development that Kindness Counts! As a service project, so many of our Mabry students were able to experience the spirit of giving. We have heard some wonderful stories from teachers and parents. To continue the giving, the committee will use half of the proceeds from the shoppe to purchase holiday gifts for local children in need and donate them to Metropolitan Ministries Toy Drive this season.

Spring Auction

The spring auction is Mabry's biggest annual fundraiser, and we need your help making it the best yet! This year's event, GLOW, on Friday, February 23, 7pm at Pattinis, will include a silent and live auction, catered buffet, complementary beer and wine from 7-9pm, a photobooth, DJ and much more. Donations are needed from Mabry families and local businesses for our silent and live auction - items can be small or large, from a nice bottle of wine, to event tickets, to a vacation home rental. Mark your calendars! January 10-12 at drop-off and pick-up in both the front and back of school Mabry Auction team members will be there collecting any and all unused & unopened "regifts" as well as empty baskets.
