THIS WEEK: Spring Book Fair

The Spring Scholastic Book Fair is this week, February 24th - 28th!

Students can shop during school hours, or families can shop with them on Monday from 1-3pm or Thursday from 3-7pm for conference night.

Pennywise Starts Tomorrow

Pennywise begins tomorrow and will from through March 6th. All proceeds will go to the Mabry relay for Life team.

Each grade level will have two bins in front of the media center. One will be marked pennies and one will be marked coins and dollars. Pennies give a grade level points, while silver and coins take points away from a grade level.

The grade level with the most points at the end of the two weeks will win a popsicle party!

Grandparents Breakfast

Mabry PTA is pleased to invite you to the Mabry Grandparents Breakfast. Students are assigned days based on their last name as follows:

A-G (Wednesday 3/25)
H-M (Thursday 3/26)
N-Z (Friday 3/27)

Door open at 6:45am, and breakfast will be served until 7:30am. Access to the event will only be through the cafeteria doors facing Lois Ave. In order to attend, you must RSVP by Friday 2/27th via eventbrite HERE.

February's Character Connection:

Empathy

Children learn empathy by watching and experiencing our empathy for them. They also notice by watching how you interact with others.

Here are some discussion points to talk about empathy with your child:

Identify and make connections between multiple thoughts, behaviors, and feelings with your child.
Talk about ways you can build a "climate" of empathy in the home and community.

Walk to School Wednesdays

Walk to school every Wednesday and fill those punch cards ! Here's the map of walking routes and additional details.

American Cancer Luminaria Order Form

You can give to the American Cancer Society and keep the flame of hope lit by dedicating a luminaria in memory of someone lost to cancer or in honor of someone still fighting or who has beaten the disease.

Luminarias are $10 each and can have up to 10 words of dedication in addition to the name. Forms can be found HERE and must be returned by Thursday, April 17, 2020.

Mabry PTA Alumni Scholarship

The Mabry PTA is now accepting applications for the Mabry Alumni Scholarship!! Any senior who attended and completed 5th grade at Mabry is eligible to apply. Please help spread the word! The deadline to submit applications and supporting materials is March 27, 2020.

Tuesday-Friday: 1:10pm
