Mabry Minute for Week of 04/30/17
From the Desk of the President
Thank you to all who attended the last General Membership Meeting on Thursday night.  We had a great meeting and got many things accomplished. 
 
Congratulations to the following individuals who were elected into office for next school year.

The General Membership also voted to spend PTA funds in the following areas: 
$30,000 to fund 2017-18 Mini Grant Program 
$22,000 to fund Landscaping Improvements
$10,000 to fund Cafeteria Improvements
 
Can't make the meetings? You can click here for the minutes.  Traditionally meeting minutes are posted within one week. We are excited to get these improvements started and put our PTA dollars to work for our school.
Walk to School Wednesday
Join the Mabry Walking School Bus for our last Walk to School Wednesday of the year next Wednesday May 3, 2017. Walking school buses will meet at 7:10 am.
 
Check mabrypta.org for a map of bus routes and additional details.  All walkers will receive a spirit stick and participants will be entered into a raffle to receive a physical activity prize pack for their classroom! Students should sign in with their teacher when they get to class to be counted. Coffee and water will be available by the gate on Estrella outside the 1 st  grade wing.
Volunteer Spotlight
Mabry is SO fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers who give of their time and their talent.  As the year winds down and many look to move on from Mabry, we want to take time to thank a few who have helped make Mabry great. 
 
Aned Baerga-Richter exemplifies the Mabry Spirit.  Aned has been a valuable member of the Mabry community for the past several years and has most recently served as the Dolphin Depot Spirit Store Chair.  She is so kind, generous of her time and her smile lights up the halls of Mabry.  She can also be found giving of herself in the library, was a part of the auction team, and in all the activities of her sweet daughter, Gabby.  Gabby is moving on to 6th grade next year and Aned and her entire family's presence will be greatly missed at Mabry.  Thank you Aned for your generosity to Mabry, for the footprint that you have left. 
Lights, Camera, Appreciation!
We appreciate all of our Mabry teachers & staff!  This week is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. 
Please show Mabry's "stars" that we are grateful for all they do.
Thursday: Students bring in cards for our amazing teachers and staff.
Friday: Students bring flowers to add to the classroom bouquet.
Hall Monitors
Testing is still going on and we are in need of hall monitors.

Mabry's Spring Family Dinner 
Mabry's Spring Dinner will be Thursday, May 11 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the teacher parking lot and cafeteria.  Join us for some fun, friends, festivities, and FOOD TRUCKS!  Surf and Turf Truck, Maggie on the Move, Taco Traveler, and Stoops Italian Ice trucks will be providing yummy food options.  The Dolphin Depot will be having a fire sale - you don't want to miss out on these sale items!
