In the past, club level hockey players had represented the USA at the FISU World University Games. This year the roster will be filled by current D-III players from across the country.

Four Canada West teams will welcome the Ukrainian National Team in late December and early January to give them the opportunity to play and prepare for the upcoming Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games while raising money for refugees and Ukrainian communities torn apart by the war.

Two athletes from Thailand have qualified for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games and are training at U.S. universities. Jadon Scures, 18, a snowboard competitor, is a student at the University of Denver. Teekhree Silpa-Archa, 20, is scheduled to compete in figure skating and attends Northeastern University.

They join figure skater Eugenia Ayelen Garza, the Mexican national champion who skated in last year’s Olympic Trials and this year’s Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, as international students attending U.S. schools. Garza,19, is a kinesiology student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
